Synonym. Nivalin.The dosage form. The drug of vegetable origin, obtained from tubers of plants Voronov's snowdrop. Ampoules 1 ml of 0.1, 0.25, 0.5 and 1 of th solution.

Therapeutic properties. Galantamine improves muscle tone, increases the secretion of sweat, salivary glands, restores motor function of the intestine, bladder.

Indications for use. Used for myasthenia gravis, motor and sensory disorders associated with diseases of the peripheral nerves (neuritis, radiculitis, the effects of polio), while lesions of CNS hemorrhage in the brain, the consequences of encephalitis etc. in Addition, galantamine is used in atony of the bowel, bladder, impotence.

Rules of application. The drug is administered 1 time, at least 2 times a day subcutaneously. The dose, doctor chooses individually. Higher doses under the skin: WFD – 0.01 g (10mg), IRR – 0.02 g (20 mg). The course of treatment 20 to 30 injections.

Side effects and complications. The drug is usually well tolerated. Possible individual hypersensitivity, which manifests itself in the form of salivation, ischemia of the heart rhythm, dizziness. Dose reduction leads to the disappearance of these phenomena.

Contraindications. Epilepsy, asthma, angina, slow heart rate (bradycardia), abnormal increased muscle tone.

Storage. In a dark place. Shelf life 4 .year.
