The dosage form. Nicodin is a synthetic drug. Available in tablets of 0.5 g in a package of 10 pieces.

Therapeutic properties. Nicodin has choleretic effect, however it has a bacteriostatic and bactericidal effect, exhibiting the properties of vitamin e and hepatoprotector (protects liver cells from the damaging effects of various factors).

Indications for use. Nicodin is used in chronic inflammations of the gall bladder and liver (cholecystitis, hepatocholecystitis), diseases of the stomach and intestines (gastroenteritis), infection of the urinary tract caused by Escherichia coli. The drug is also used in the biliary dyskinesia, giardiasis and in complex therapy of chronic pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas).

Rules of application. Nicodin is taken orally 1 to 2 tablets 3 to 4 times a day for 10 to 15 minutes before meals and drink water. The course of treatment is 10 to 14 days, if necessary, can be repeated.

Side effects and complications. When applying nikodina sometimes exacerbated pain in the liver, in patients with gastritis with secretory insufficiency may increase digestive disorders (dyspepsia). In case of intolerance of the drug experience an allergic reaction (hives, itching, swelling of skin and mucous membranes, etc.).

Contraindications. You cannot apply nicodin if you are hypersensitive to, and in the presence of mechanical obstacles to the flow of bile.

Storage. The drug is stored in a dry, protected from light. Shelf life 3 years.
